EPIC Youth Worship Leader

Part-time (20 hours); salaried
Location: on campus
Hire Date: ASAP

Position Overview
Our EPIC Student community is looking for a worship leader to lead our middle and high schoolers with energy, excellence and creativity. We are looking for someone not just with musical skill or love of performance, but with a heart for leading in worship and helping youth grow in Jesus.

General 
• Have a deep and growing love and affection for Jesus; taking seriously their personal walk with the Lord, apart from any demands of ministry. We believe ministry at its best and healthiest, even when challenging or exhausting, is an overflow of abiding in Christ consistently.
• Have a love for youth and meeting them where they are, while cultivating a vision of worship that helps them grow and mature in Christ.
• Be part of a small staff team willing to dream together, pray with each other, celebrate each other and work together sacrificially as we follow the Spirit’s lead here at EPIC. We believe communities create community, and teamwork is the legwork for the kingdom.
• Clearance of a criminal background check
• Have fun! (After all, we are a youth ministry!)

Specific Qualifications
• Excellent vocal and musical skills; can sing and play an instrument well.
• Has experience leading in worship (ideally for middle/high school youth). Especially for youth, having a lot of energy on stage and being able to cultivate that is important.
• Eager to ​develop and disciple students to in learning to worship and (for some) leading in worship.
• Understands the necessity of practice and preparation and is committed to coming musically and prayerfully prepared for each gathering.
• Clearance of a criminal background check
• Flexible / adaptable to the realities of what can sometimes be a crazy (but fun) youth environment!

Specific Time Commitments
Weekly
• Weekly staff meeting with EPIC Team
• Band practice (as “band” develops)
• High School EPIC (weekly gathering): Sunday afternoons/evenings, 2-7 PM
• Middle School EPIC (weekly gathering): Wednesday afternoons/evenings, 4:30-8:30 PM

Yearly
• 3X / year: full-weekend student retreats
• Summer: Summer Camp involvement (6th Grade Camp, MS Camp, Converge, and one other) and other summer responsibilities.
• Other events (worship nights, possibly hangout nights, etc.)
