spring 2023 (beginning in February)

This spring we’ll still be gathering as a HS EPIC community weekly…so that’s not changing! But how we gather will look different every other week. Our normal large group gatherings — Sundays from 4-6:30PM — will still be happening, but (beginning in February) only every other Sunday.

On the weeks we’re not gathering as a large group? We’re excited to gather in “Life Groups” on a few different days / times, co-led by staff and some amazing old EPIC students.

Our heart & hope is always to create spaces for students to experience Jesus, and find His fullness of life in the messiness, craziness, struggle and fun of their real lives. And there’s just something about small groups doing life together that seemed to be a major way Jesus wanted people to experience Him best! (When you think about it, Jesus basically called a small group — His 12 disciples — to eat with, learn from and do life with Him.) So we want to try out making that part of the regular way we gather this semester.

Every other week, we’ll be eating some delicious food (parents, that’s one place we’d love your help!), having fun, growing in community, and spending time in scripture & prayer together. We’re also excited to have the freedom to do some extra events / creative gatherings this semester, too!

SUNDAY AFTERNOONS 1-3PM — led by Michael & Hallie Yonker in EPIC’s Water Bar, with lunch

SUNDAY NIGHTS 5:30-7:30PM — led by Hannah & Ryan Winningham in EPIC’s Water Bar, with dinner

MONDAY NIGHTS 5:30-7:30PM — led by Holly & Cole Gustafson in E-206, with dinner

THURSDAY NIGHTS 5:30-7:30PM — led by Andrew (who many students know as Loopz) & Sarah Mouton in EPIC’s Water Bar, with dinner

We know it might feel like a lot to keep track of. We’ve got you covered!

  • All are welcome. All are welcome. If you come to EPIC every week or never come — if you read your Bible every morning, if you have a ton of questions about it, or if you’ve literally never opened it on your own — if you have a ton of friends at EPIC or don’t know anyone — we want to see you there!
  • Spots are limited. We want these groups to grow in friendship & community, and that can only be done with so many people. If some groups have a waitlist, and others have only a few people, we may change or add a group. The sooner students sign up, the better we know what changes might need to be made!
  • If you sign up, show up! Students: we encourage you to be as consistent as possible in coming to the group you sign up for! We know weeks get crazy and sometimes, it’s just not possible. Life happens. But community is built with consistency. If you sign up, do your best to show up!

Wednesday Nights from 6-8 PM belong to Middle School Students! We’ve got dodgeball, the rock wall, a game room fully equipped with the latest gaming stations and plenty of food to choose from at the EPIC café. But Wednesdays are more than just fun and games. Each Wednesday culminates with an exciting worship experience featuring live music from the EPIC Worship Band, engaging teachings, and of course an occasional crazy EPIC video. You definitely need to come check it out!

*COVID-19 safety reminder: All students should be aware of COVID-19 symptoms and should remain at home if they feel sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick. Students: we love you and want you to come…but more than that, we want you to stay safe and healthy!

Masks will be welcome and encouraged but not required, and strongly encouraged for anyone not fully vaccinated. Given the fluidity and changing landscape of COVID, we will keep an eye on case numbers, emerging variants and CDC health guidelines. If best, we will adapt protocol as needed and keep parents and students updated as we do.

The basketball court will also be consistently open during HS & MS nights (as possible with weather) as a safe, outdoor space to eat and hang.

Signing up ahead of time isn’t required, but is a huge help in us planning well for rides.  Sign up here EACH WEEK so we know you’re coming!

MS Bible Study at Panera is here to stay! Every other Tuesday morning, any & all middle schoolers are invited to join us at the Oviedo Panera (on Mitchell Hammock Rd) at 8AM. Bring a few bucks for breakfast! We’ll eat and spend some time in scripture together; then staff & volunteer parents will carpool to drop off at local middle school. Invite some friends too: this is an easy, low-pressure space to explore faith in Jesus and build friendships. All are welcome!

Signing up ahead of time isn’t required, but is a huge help in us planning well for rides. Note: Use the sign-up link on our website. It will also be sent out every Wednesday morning via our MS Bible Study Remind101.

Want to be part of the MS Bible Study Parent Remind101, to receive text reminders about dates we’re meeting and links to sign up? Great! Text @ms-bstudy to the number 81010 and you should be good to go. Email with any questions. Can’t wait to see your student there!

A space for high schoolers to belong, discover Jesus, become like Him and have a blast doing it (usually while playing dodgeball or hanging in the Game Room!). Each month, one Sunday gathering will be a Worship Night, and one night will be Bible Study & Breakfast Wars night…other Sundays, we’ll gather as normal for hang time, message, open EPIC Cafe and small groups.

Freestyle — our student gathering during the 10AM service — is kicking back off for the fall, but looks a little different!

Students (middle and high school) will start out, together with their families, in front Worship Center for worship. They’ll head to Freestyle in M-201 after an announcement partway through service.
The first Sunday of each month, starting in September, will be All-In Donut Parties: students will join their families for the entirety of worship service, but afterward are invited to come find EPIC’s table in the lobby, grab donuts and hang out!
